Day 54: Ha Long Bay – Hanoi (B, Br, D / 4-star Hotel)
Start your day with a light breakfast while taking in the stunning sunrise from the cruise, offering breathtaking views that are hard to match on land. A Tai Chi class may also be available.
The next destination on the classic Ha Long Bay route is Sung Sot Cave (Surprise Cave), one of the largest and most magnificent caves in the area. To reach the entrance, you will need to climb over 50 steps, revealing the fascinating natural vegetation of Ha Long Bay. Discovered in 1901 by the French, the cave was originally named “Grotte des Surprises” due to its remarkable variety. Spanning approximately 10,000 square meters, Sung Sot Cave is divided into two large chambers, each showcasing its own unique geological features, including million-year-old stalactites and columns.
After exploring the cave, you’ll have time to either pack your luggage or relax on the sundeck as the boat makes its way to the port. Enjoy a delicious brunch on the cruise before returning to Tuan Chau Port, where you can unwind in the waiting area before your transportation back.
The transfer from Ha Long to Hanoi will then commence, and you’ll be dropped off at your hotel in the Hanoi Old Quarter. Enjoy a farewell dinner and take some time to explore the vibrant streets of the Old Quarter one last night.
